ADVERTISEMENTS
It’s all about veins for Dr. Kenneth Janoff and his staff at Bridgeport Vein Center.
Offering treatment for vein-related diseases and complications, Janoff says the new location is the only freestanding center in the area dedicated solely to veins.
Janoff and Dr. Patrick Lehti, both vascular surgeons at a Providence medical clinic, opened the center five weeks ago on the corner of Lower Boones Ferry and Pilkington roads.
Janoff currently sees patients at the new location on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons, but he is hoping to expand business hours as his practice grows.
Growth would also allow Lehti, who at this time only sees patients at the Providence clinic, to join Janoff at the new practice.
As the business expands, Janoff says he plans to offer some services, including free screenings, on occasional Saturdays. The screenings allow Janoff to assess what sort of treatment a patient may need.
The center offers three procedures in the treatment of vein diseases and complications: sclerotherapy, ambulatory phlebectomies and VNUS Closure procedures.
Sclerotherapy is the treatment of dilated blood vessels called spider veins or varicose veins. Most often a result of genetic susceptibility, these surface veins are shut down through minor injections to reduce visibility or pain that may be occurring in a patient’s legs.
An ambulatory phlebectomy is a minor surgical procedure through which larger varicose veins can be removed.
