Clackamas County to open H1N1 clinic Tuesday

One-day clinic will accept walk-ins only from identified priority groups

Clackamas County will open its H1N1 flu vaccination clinic Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for distribution of vaccine to priority groups. All forms of vaccine will be available.

The clinic is located at 168 Warner-Milne Road in Oregon City, on the county’s Red Soils campus. The site is next to the OSU extension building and diagonally across from the entrance to Portland General Electric.

The clinic accepts walk-ins only. The clinic will issue time-stamped tickets in an effort to streamline the process, reduce traffic congestion along Warner-Milne and minimize waiting periods.

The clinic will provide vaccine identified priority groups. Those are:

· Pregnant women

· Health care workers and emergency responders

· Persons ages 6 months to 24 years.

· Adults up to 64 years old with health conditions that pose a high risk of complications from influenza such as asthma, heart disease and HIV.

· Parents or caretakers (under age 64) of infants under 6 months old.

For more information on clinic hours or H1N1-related updates, visit www.clackamas.us/swineflu or call the Clackamas County Pandemic Flu Information Line at 503-722-2777. Both are updated daily.

The phone line is staffed weekdays from 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. with English and Spanish-speaking call takers and features automated messages to direct after-hours callers.
