A Lake Oswego resident was killed Sunday when struck by a taxi in a neighborhood on Chicago’s North Side.
Chicago police said Robert Deighton, 42, was walking when a cab emerging from a driveway struck him about 6:30 a.m.
Deighton was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.
Police said the taxi driver, Desta Pawlos, 29, was cited for failing to stop when emerging from a driveway or alley.
Pawlos is scheduled to appear in traffic court at 2:30 p.m. June 22, police said.
The case remains under investigation by detectives and the police Major Accident Investigation Unit.
