Too bad most taxpayer-voters don't read The Review. If they did they'd see how this city's elected elite and friends have driven Lake Oswego's finances right into the ground. And the next 'crisis' will come from falling municipal revenues in both income tax receipts, but especially falling real estate values. One would think they'd see this crisis as cause for vacating the Safeco building in order to save money.

Tough decision, however I will support the school district for sure. Every year when the ratings come out and LO school district does well I know our investment is doing well. Myself and my family use the library often so I will support that too. But I'm not sure about the other measures.. I need to think about it and look at my entire tax bill.

Linda is dead wrong on this one.
You think your property values are sinking a bit now? Vote down the LO School District 5 year option and watch them plummet. All fifteen (15) schools in our city were again rated as exceptional - 2 years running. Who will want to buy your home if the schools are perceived as going downhill, while your water bill doubles by 2015 ?
We are the envy of the State - don't throw that away to save $417 a year. We cannot do much about the water bill, but we can keep our city and property values healthy.
Please THINK about this.

The same great minds that tell us confiscating the Safeco building was 'good for the community.'
Time to break the grip of the teacher's union on this city.

Re: A comprehensive look at public finance – what will it look like if all five tax measures pass this November?
The national financial pain has just begun. These local measures are not critical and need to be put off until the economy is in much better shape. Vote no on all these measures.
