ADVERTISEMENTS
In an exciting and well-played capper to Tuesday’s Civil War doubleheader, Lake Oswego kept place with Clackamas, earning a 3-2 decision over Lakeridge to remain tied atop the Three Rivers League.
Much like the boys game earlier in the evening, the girls’ contest went back and forth culminating in Isabelle Richmond’s game-winner with seven minutes to play.
It was difficult to assess who had the better of the play throughout the game. While the Lakers were strong on possession, Lakeridge proved to be exceedingly dangerous on its counter attack and both teams had numerous chances all evening.
Lakeridge struck first in the game. Just over 10 minutes into the game, Jaimie Landreth scored to give the Pacers the lead.
But Lake Oswego wasn’t behind for long. Less than 10 minutes of game time later, Cali Reis scored on a set play to knot the game.
The Pacers pressured early in the second half but Lake Oswego seized momentum quickly.
Just four minutes into the half, Reis received a pass about 20 yards away from the net. She lined up a shot and fired it to the far post past a diving goalie for her second tally of the night.
