Lady Pacers advance to fourth place game

Kyleigh Young rises up for a jump shot in the Pacers’ loss to Silverton on Monday. Lakeridge then beat Hood River to advance to the fourth place game against Crescent Valley in the Interstate Shootout.

The Lakeridge girls basketball team continues to perform well despite its youth and turned in a solid showing in the State Farm Bracket of the Interstate Shootout.

Lakeridge got into the winner's bracket of the tournament with a solid 42-31 win over Sequoyah from Oklahoma and then took on a strong Silverton team in the quarterfinals.

The Pacers fell behind 7-2 early but rallied back. Lexi Ross scored her team's first nine points but picked up her second foul late in the quarter.

Silverton fired up a handful of three-point shots early in the game but struggled to find the range. Still, the Foxes led 14-11.

Lakeridge took the lead early in the second quarter and had some momentum but started to slip again when Ross picked up her third foul.

The Pacers battled to a 23-23 tie at the half.
